Hannes Minnaar

Hannes Minnaar no longer needs an introduction. In the spring of 2019 he performed in the 33rd season of the Master Pianists series in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Public and press described his performance as an unquestioned success. In our Master Pianists series he will play works by Schumann, Liszt, Ravel and a new work by the Dutch composer Robert Zuidam.

Maurice Ravel (1875-1937): Gaspard de la Nuit (1908)

Hannes Lover
After his legendary prize at the Queen Elizabeth Competition in 2010 and the Edison Classical Debut Prize in 2012, Hannes Minnaar can no longer be ignored from the Dutch and international concert halls. “Lover does not live up to the stereotype of the keyboard lion and does not give the impression of being consumed by burning ambition … That attitude also characterizes his playing, which is free from bluff and swagger and serves the music at all times,” NRC writes. The British The Observer is equally enthusiastic: “Lover’s virtuosity needs no comment: we expect that. His musical intelligence, sense of line and structure, delicacy, subtlety of texture and discipline set him apart. ”
