INDIE NIGHTS: GLAUCOUS + LO + ONHA

INDIE NIGHTS: GLAUCOUS + LO + ONHA

CREEPY
Renowned for its dead calm and its “Belgian” good nature, the city of Namur is the playground of one of the most intriguing groups of the moment. On the current music map, Glauque marks the territory with its strong identity. Open to electronic experiments, the group modifies the DNA of hip-hop and explodes the codes of French song.

At the head of their own label Ecluse, the five boys break free from codes to defend the values of a different, truly radical aesthetic. In line with its convictions, convinced of the merits of its approach, the group relies on craftsmanship, individual skills and an unwavering team spirit. This total control over production materializes today under the brushstrokes affixed to the cover of a first uncompromising EP. Called ‘Glauque’, the object traces the genesis of the project in five essential pieces.

At Glauque, the creative process is super instinctive. Each brings their sensitivity, their influences, their aesthetics. This continuous flow of new ideas sketches the outlines of a free, hybrid, totally uninhibited music. All-terrain group, non-category collective, Glauque weaves its way between algorithms and news feeds to establish its own truths. Anchored in the heart of a hyperconnected society, the training plays on the double meaning of its name. Between the bright color of sea water and the endlessly hopeless, Glauque’s universe is based on striking contrasts. Thus, through its music, the group crystallizes the paradoxes of the time. At the crossroads of technological progress, ecological challenges and an endangered humanity, the world of fake news is not necessarily what we see. As with George Orwell or Philip K.

Before moving on to the next chapter, Glauque lays the foundations for the story. Beyond the euphoria and captivating beginnings, this first recording above all leaves the promises of a future without downtime.

LO

Loïc Bailly aka LO is a young 28-year-old from Brussels who comes to us after the surges of hip-hop in recent years. As a young person, born in the 90s, LO was enormously influenced by hip-hop and French rap (MC Solaar, Fonky Family, IAM, 113, Oxmo Puccino, …), but also by rock ( The Doors, Pink Floyd, Black Keys,…).

It was around the age of 16 that he decided to learn the piano on his own and to start writing his first texts. “I immediately tried to make a link between what I was writing and the music I was starting – awkwardly – to compose.” He then joined his first rock group (Wyndu) with whom he took his first steps on stage and records his first demos. Over the years, his interest has shifted towards electronic composition and computer music (always self-taught), in which he never forgets to integrate real instruments (piano, guitar, saxophone, drums, …).

This is how, little by little, LO writes, composes, his first songs in his room.

Result, he develops a universe which vacillates between spoken word, electro and rock: frank, worked texts where he tells us his world, ours as he sees it, on a melody of his own, sometimes on a piano background, sometimes more electronic.

ONHA

ramahnon Clement. A name that says a lot about the multiculturalism that inhabits this young Belgian talent, inspired as much by the effervescence of the cities as the warmth of his native Ivorian lands. A duality found at the heart of his music, immersed in a certain hip-hop culture and mixed with various influences, reflections of an indefatigable curiosity. After revealing themselves on their first track, ONHA is ready to take off. And takeoff is imminent!

By drawing on the codes of a classic rap that will bring him the legendary discographies of the greatest, ONHA puts his aerial hoarse voice on polished productions, sometimes mellow sometimes electric. He thus bet on eclecticism by incorporating black music from the vinyls that rocked his childhood: jazz, funk, blues. The result pushes the very limits of the genre and proves the richness of an artist like this, archetype of the new golden generation of Belgian rap.

By soaking up both the pop culture that colors his daily life as well as the avant-garde sounds that take hold of the current music industry, the young rapper builds his songs like a true goldsmith, offering everyone their share of emotions. . Somewhere between a vaporous soul and an incendiary trap, ONHA’s rap imposes two objectives and strives to honor them. Suggest the difference. Make an impression.

A heavenly thinker with his feet on the ground.
