International Classical Music Festival 2022

International Classical Music Festival 2022

For the second edition of the International Classical Music Festival, organized by Klassika International Foundation, we wanted to associate the famous French writer Marcel Proust, whose centenary we are celebrating, with music.

It made sense for us to base ourselves on one of his great works: A la recherche du temps perdu. Because how can we not also think about the precious time that we as artists have lost during this corona crisis? But we have found that lost time again. To refer to Proust, in his work Le temps retrouvé: as Klassika International we are happy to find the stage and the audience again!

The Quest for Lost Time is a work written in seven parts and deals in particular with Proust’s childhood, as he remembers it: the smells, the sounds, the emotions.

For that reason, the festival will start with a shortened version of Mozart’s famous opera The Magic Flute in which dance and choreography (by dance school Danee Klever), song, music and narrator, with the participation of children who will be dressed up, will work together in a dynamic and harmonious will be performed entirely according to an original idea by Saskia Eurlings of the Favola in Musica foundation.

A host of artists from all over the world will give a series of concerts that will be as eclectic as they are exciting. These are the soprano Egita Gielen, the tenor Alexandre Guerrero, the violinists Nikita Akulov and Amara Tir, the Eurasia Quartet, the double bassist Nicholas Schwartz as well as the pianists Anna Fedorova, Didier Castell-Jacomin, Eliane Rodrigues, Ludovic Selmi, Carles Budó, Patricija Ciemese. , Sachit Ajmani, Isabel Rico, Tania Cardillo and the guitarist Sandro Rodrigues.

You will (re)discover the works of composers very fond of Proust, such as César Franck and his sonata for violin and piano, or the two concertos of Chopin in their original version (piano and string quartet), but also melodies by his friend and composer Raynaldo Hahn. In addition, compositions by Bach, Beethoven, Massenet, Mozart and Ravel will also be performed.

The festival will conclude on Sunday, October 16 with works by a contemporary Italian composer who will not leave you indifferent. During the recital they will be presented as a nod to Proust. Would it surprise us that if Proust were still among us, the composer Luca Moscardi would be one of this writer’s favorite composers?
