This week: GC Quartet
The Jazz quartet was created at the end of 2022. by band leader Girts Celmins.
Members of the “GC Quartet” are – Girts Celmins (guitar), Timo Bakker (piano), Dominic Choung (double bass) and Micky Laheij (drums).
“GC Quartet” repertoire is mostly based on the be-bop and hard-bop musical traditions.
Beside of playing arranged jazz tunes from Benny Golson, John Coltrane, Duke Pearson and many others, quartet is also performing original music of the guitar player and composer, Girts Celmins.
Although the existence of “GC Quartet” is not that long, musical chemistry between band members is already there.
