Film L’événement with short introduction by film scientist Jack Post L’événement is the most recent film by the French-Romanian filmmaker Audrey Diwan and her largely female crew. This beautiful film, which will receive the Golden Lion in 2021.
Venice Film Festival, is based on Annie Ernaux’s autobiographical novella, de grande dame of French literature.
Set in 1963 France, the film tells the story of brilliant student Anne who becomes pregnant and “wants to get rid of it” to finish her studies and escape the working-class environment where she comes from.
