The Pentecost concert 2023 by the Koninklijke Harmonie Sainte Cécile, Eijsden, is a passionate ‘french kiss’ with a touch of Spanish passion.
American, French and Spanish music meet in surprising ways. We hear Rhapsody in Blue from the composer of American in Paris, George Gershwin. The Second Symphony for Wind Orchestra was composed by the Spanish composer Luis Serrano Alarcón for the American University of St. Thomas, Minnesota. And after the break we hear a variety of swinging French chansons with vocals by Sef Thissen and Leta Bell.
