Flamenco company Maria “la Serrana” is coming to Heerlen with Santuario. The Spanish company performs together with Juan Juan José Amador and Pepe de Pura on vocals, Luis Amador on guitar and María “la Serrana” and Antonio Moreno “Polito” on dance. Of course Maria also brings a local special guest, dancer Marta Flendrig.

Santuario is a special performance for several reasons. We have retrieved all the styles that are at the beginning of Flamenco art. These styles were, as it were, a sanctuary or refuge for people who were persecuted in such a way that the only way to get out of art was. persecuted included Jews, Moors and mainly gypsies. At this time, art is again topical as a refuge for our worries.
