Kerri Powers knows how to touch a sensitive chord with her beautifully lived voice and bluesy songs.
The musical career of the bluesy singer-songwriter Kerri Powers started promisingly. She was on stage at a young age and wrote her own music. Things went differently. She got married, had a child and said goodbye to music. After a difficult divorce, Kerri is back. And how. Her comeback album five years ago already made an impression. Her latest album Starseeds is the superlative.

Southern Blues Night 2020
Kerri Powers was scheduled for our Southern Blues Night in March 2020. However, on the day she landed in Europe, America announced a no-fly zone and she could do nothing but fly straight home. Luckily she comes back. And she doesn’t come alone. Although Kerri can accompany herself excellently on guitar and keys, she will be accompanied this evening by BJ Baartmans, perhaps Holland’s most versatile string prodigy.

A sensitive string
Kerri’s 2022 tour is all about Starseeds. The album was retroactively named folk/roots album of the week at Heaven Magazine. “It’s great that Starseeds was released in Europe, because the bluesy slant makes the album far above the average singer-songwriter level and Powers proves to be one of the best.” Altcountryforum also writes with praise: “A record to enjoy intensely.” The only thing we would like to add is that Kerri knows how to touch a sensitive chord with her beautifully lived voice and bluesy songs.

Support: Damien van Elburg
Earlier this year, Damiën van Elburg was a guest at the digital anniversary broadcast of the Southern Blues Night as a busker and with his Johnny Cash-like appearance, he conquered the LIMBURGzaal together with the band during his own theater concert. Tonight he will play exclusively his own work as ‘Stay away from that whiskey’ as support act for Kerri Powers.
